We are excited to announce the beginning of
On Wednesday, September 21, MOPS/MOMSnext starts up again it's meetings for the school year, every 1st & 3rd Wednesday of every month. Our last meeting will be Wednesday, May 18. We meet from 9:15am to 11:15am to allow for any school drop-offs/pick-ups. During the summer, we have summer playdates!
The theme for this year is We are the Starry Eyed.
What is MOPS?
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers (http://www.mops.org/) and is a worldwide ministry that helps women become the woman God has intended them to be as a daughter of God, wife, mother, friend, daughter and whatever other hats they wear! This is great opportunity for moms to encourage one another and to continue to grow in their faith walk with God. Expectant moms are welcome!
Alongside the moms meetings, the children (birth through pre-Kindergarten) have an opportunity to be in the MOPPETS curriculum to learn also what mom is learning. It is not a requirement for our pre-school-aged children since they may be attending their regular school sessions (for example, at local pre-schools or nursery schools).
What is MOMSnext?
MOMSnext is for mothers of school-aged children (Kindergarten through 8th Grade) who want to continue their support and community through the school years. This group is open to moms of homeschooled children. There will be MOMSnext childcare with a "one-room school teacher" to help with self-study homework and activities that all the children can participate and enjoy together.
How Can I Be Involved?
If you are interested in joining or helping this ministry, please contact Cathy Moody at email@example.com or (650) 703-6010. Since your first visit is FREE, you'll have an opportunity to register after experiencing a MOPS/MOMSnext meeting.
Ways to Serve
This ministry is prayerfully seeking women to serve as paid childcare workers for the MOPPETS curriculum (to teach the children in downstairs rooms while the moms meet upstairs).
Our MOPPETS Coordinator (Nicole Smithson) leads in helping childcare workers prepare for the MOPPETS program with materials, snacks, etc. (children's curriculum that follows mommy's curriculum, materials from Boz The Bear and My Favorite Bible provided by MOPS HQ).
