Although not an attender of Mariners Church, we wanted to share the story of Zak Mirzadeh, Christian illusionist.  We are pleased that he is joining us this weekend for a special event designed to connect with our 20-something community on the coast through the first of three “Summer Speaker Series’ events.

Zak and his wife Jordyn live in Texas.  They were married in April of 2016.  Bringing his magic skills even to his proposal, Zak told Jordyn that he was learning how to draw and asked her to take a look at some of his sketches while on a picnic. When Jordyn sees an unfinished drawing of a hand, Zak sneakily asks her to finish the drawing and add a ring in the palm. That’s when he took it even further and showed her a magic trick he’d been working on.  He took the drawing and with the slight of hand of a master illusionist, the picture of the ring disappeared and a real diamond ring appeared in her hand!  To view the video that captured it all, visit https://www.littlethings.com/magic-trick-proposal-zak/

Zak grew up as a Muslim, faithful to his religion, and praying five times every day. Due to an incredible set of circumstances, Zak was left fatherless. At the age of seventeen, Zak was confronted with a reality that was very different from his upbringing. He was brought face to face with the TRUTH of who JESUS is.   “I have personally discovered that Christianity is different from any other religion in the world.”

Now a devoted follower of Jesus, Zak Mirzadeh has a profoundly unique perspective on how to reach this post-modern generation with the Good News.

Zak Mirzadeh spent four years as a key member of the epic show known as M?ZE.  While there he honed his skills for one specific purpose, to capture the attention of his generation in order to share the Good News of Jesus with them.  He has since launched his own new show, “Nothing Up My Sleeve,” designed to captivate the audience while illuminating the grace of God. Zak weaves in his story of what it was like to grow up in a religious household and how the Gospel of Jesus transformed his life.  His story of conversion from a Muslim to a follower of Jesus is not only timely, but also incredibly redemptive.
