Hello Parents,
As you have likely seen from Pastor Paul’s email, our church services have gotten a little more interesting for the next month! Because we want to ensure our church and Coastside communities are safe, we have decided to go to an “online church” method for the remainder of March.
What this means is that we will not have physical meetings with our children. This means that we will NOT be meeting for kid’s church on Sundays, Wednesday Clubs, have any events or activities.
Why?
The Bible tells us that we need to follow the governing powers that be. So as our State and County have mandated, we will not be able to meet in large groups and ensure that our kids and our people are 6 ft away from each other. And of course, we do not want to spread the coronavirus any more than it needs to be.
How long?
We will be doing this form of church through the end of March.
So, what is there for my kids?
THIS IS THE BEST PART AND I AM SO EXCITED!!! PARENTS! We can STILL have church!!!! We will be doing some online lessons, activities, games, and fun for the whole family, just a little differently. For you to be involved, I really need your help on this! Please be on the lookout for more information on our Facebook Group: MCC|Kids – Surf’s Up (link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/359601264051447/) and on Instagram: mcc_surfsup. Please LIKE or FOLLOW our pages so you don’t miss our updates and our funtivities!!! We will be streaming our children’s lessons via the internet (what a great time to be alive!!), we will be including crafts / activity ideas in emails, texts, and on our social media! It will be all the same stuff, but you get to wear your PJs! Sounds like a fun time to me! Were you planning on inviting someone? You can tag them in our posts AND they can have pancakes!! So awesome!!!
Yes, it is different. Yes, it will be sad not to see each other in our church building, but the great thing about churches is that they are not defined by a building or a service! A church is the ‘called out’ people of God who are living for him in this place. You can’t cancel that! God has given us the freedom to meet wherever and whenever we want. So let’s be the church of the Coastside in a new and fun way!
