THE SEASON OF ADVENT BEGINS DECEMBER 1ST
You may have heard the word “Advent” around the Christmas season, but maybe you aren’t exactly sure what it is or means. The word “Advent” is from the Latin “adventus” and means “the coming.” It marks the period of preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas. The countdown to Christ’s birth begins on December 1st this year and runs for a total of four consecutive Sundays before ending on Christmas Eve at midnight.
